(1) Remote appliance, when connected to a LAN or WAN, can "discover" network connected MFP's and laser printers.

Once identified @Remote can obtain and report on the following:

(2) Print, Copy, Fax and Scan Meters for networked Ricoh original equipment MFPs and Printers that are @Remote compatible.

These would include new Ricoh engines produced from November 2003 or later, as well as non-networked Ricoh devices connected

to the appliance via serial cable. (See the launch kit for product compatibility listing.) Up to 5 devices may be connected using serial

cables to one appliance. Availability of meter data will be dependent upon appliance installation methodology.
